Still Christmas in my heart!

We had a lovely afternoon tea with friends the other day.

I made choc banana cupcakes, dusted some icing sugar on top 

and added a few reindeers and Christmas trees for fun.

-Simple and Christmassy!

13th of January - Twenty days after Christmas
Today is the day when Swedes remove all their Christmas decor
- if they haven't already done so.

My decor is still up and will be up for a while.
I have friends that haven't seen our Christmas house yet
and I wouldn't dream of disappointing them... lol

Even in the bedroom...

I never miss an opportunity to decorate for different seasons.

Love changing the theme in the bedroom with lovely reds.

This year we added a backdrop of white and red curtains from IKEA.

Cushions with red stripes and checkered patterns add to a Christmas country feel.

Only two weeks left of the school holiday.

 Tuesday the 28th is the first day of Year 2 for our prince.

Back to routines of bus trips and school lunches ☺

Then it's only 10 weeks until the Easter holiday

Yay ... Easter decor time!

Snowing in Sweden

So nice to hear that parts of Sweden finally got some snow - better late than never!
Winter time should be cold with lots of snow.

I'm enjoying +29°C /84.2°F here in sunny Queensland☺

The scent of Christmas

Christmas Eve seems so long ago.

I'm already starting to think about this years festivities.

Well, not really... only a thought or two ☺

So hard to let go of the decorations.

The pomanders are gone - they didn't last long.

The scent was beautiful though.

Oranges and cloves - the perfume of Christmas.

Wonder if could be bottled?!

The end of the world??

Last Monday afternoon, 

the build-up of days of extreme heat 

had caused a massive and very dangerous storm.

The sky got darker and darker

Big flash

Everyone rushing home for shelter 

Total darkness at 4pm

Green sky

Luckily we didn't get any hail!

Only rain this time - 40mm in 10 minutes.

After the storm the rainbow showed up and afterwards a stunning sunset.

The sky was golden - it wasn't the end of the world after all!

Swedish Corner Down Under

Yesterday was a hot one.

Slightly unbearable...

+42° in the shade.

Going outside felt like entering a sauna.

The air was so thick and I had a hard time breathing. 

We stayed indoors most of the day. 

I only went outside to bring in washing and hang out some more.

 Perfect drying weather lol 

The kids enjoyed the cool AirCon 

and only went out for a play late in the evening.

.For all of you who use Fahrenheit...

42°C = 107.6°F

Today is much cooler.

+27°C/80.6°F

We went to the skate park in the morning 

to meet up with friends for a playdate

 before it got too hot and humid...

 When we left the park the temperature was rising

to a top of 33°C/91.46°F

Queensland weather

Beautiful one day - perfect the next,

but sometimes too hot and too humid ☺

Luckily, it doesn't happen too often!

Dreaming of snow, cold and darkness

Today is going to be a hot day. 

It's been predicted that the temperature will reach 40-42°C, approx 104-108°F.

I'm dreaming of a snowy, cold and gloomy day in the north of Sweden.

After a long walk, come inside and have a cup of hot chocolate or glühwein.

Bliss...

My cheeks are still hurting from the cold outside.

My feet are slowly getting warm.

My hot drink is warming me up from the inside.

Already 30°C/86°F and it's only morning.

It's definitely going to be a hot day.

All our Christmas trees...

 Our Christmas decor is still up - and we are still enjoying it.
I can't get enough of all the red.

Thought I'd show off all our Christmas trees... ☺

We start out with our big tree.

Simple white and red.

...Then we have Jonah's and Lily's trees.
 Blue and pink.

Simple hearts and small santas.

Love the gentle sparkle.
 

A pretty one in the bathroom,
with gingham hearts.

One tiny one on the toilet shelf and another in the kitchen.
