New Year's Eve 2015

We spent the afternoon on the beach.
It was pretty windy and the waves were pretty high,
but the kids had fun!

When we got home I whipped up a scrumptious NYE feast - saffron salmon with carrots and rosemary... on a bed of basmati rice.

... and something I prepared earlier was our NYE dessert - saffron panna cotta with crumbled gingerbread cookies on top. Yum yum ☺

Happy last day of 2015!
See you next year ♥

Christmas 2015 - Part 3

On Boxing Day we had our first Swedish Christmas Feast called Julbord. Normally we have it on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, but I felt a bit lazy on Christmas Eve and only had the Christmas ham on freshly baked rye bread instead of the whole Christmas feast with jellied veal, meatballs, egg halves, pickled herring, potatoes and Christmas ham. It was a scrumptious meal worth waiting for!

Tomorrow is New Year's Eve... I have planned another scrumptious meal, but I'll tell you all about it another day. Stay tuned for the last blog post in 2015! ☺

Christmas 2015 - Part 2

Our Aussie Christmas at my sis-in law's new place on Christmas Day was an afternoon filled with Christmas food - I can't even describe the opulence of food and desserts... It was a lovely afternoon with friends and family.

Merry Christmas!

God Jul!

Christmas 2015

The third Sunday of Advent was celebrated on the 13th of December, the same day as we celebrate Lucia (Saint Lucy).

Our princess - a non traditional Lucia this year. She's a fun and colourful mix between a Santa girl and Lucia ☺

The kids posing in front of the xmas trees at Hyperdome Plaza. We had a day at the shops with the rest of Logan City... lol

Our tree is glowing... ♥

The fourth candle was lit on the fourth Sunday of Advent. The kids were excited that all the candles finally had been lit as that means that Christmas is around the corner!

Pretty and Christmassy on the dining room table

Out and about checking out the Christmas lights in a nearby suburb.

Our Christmas ham ready to be eaten - at 03:30am on Christmas Eve! Note to self: Cooking should be done at daytime and not in the middle of the night lol

Out traditional Swedish Christmas rice porridge with sugar and cinnamon on top. Unfortunately I forgot the blanched almonds this year. Ah well, there's always next year ☺

We had a very relaxing Christmas Eve at home. The kids opened their presents quite early and they've been pretty happy ever since... Yay! In the afternoon, we got rain and thunder so it was very cozy.

Two happy kids: ♥ Thank you Mormor (maternal grandmother) for all our Christmas gifts! ♥

A relaxing moment in front of the Christmas tree and in front of the TV - Nigella's Christmas Special... Bliss ♥

My Monster High girl... ♥

Merry Christmas to all my followers! Hope you have a fantastic Christmas with your loved ones♥

Swedish Christmas Market, Brisbane 2015

It was time for the annual Swedish Christmas Market yesterday. New this year was that it was a Christmas Twilight Market between 6-9 pm instead of during the hottest time of the day - so much nicer! At 6pm, it's already dark, so all the fairy lights made the Christmas Market very cosy and christmassy!

Swedish Goodies gift range ♥

My reindeer Christmas princess was being very creative at the Swedish School's craft table. Big brother went off and kicked the ball with some other swaustralian boys...

Ran into amazing actor Robert Coleby
(and his lovely Swedish wife, Lena) and got a bit star struck... ☺
