Creamy white with sparkling snowflakes

Week 7 of Term 1, Semester 1...

Hello all,

Jeez... so long between blog posts... I haven't disappeared, I've only been busy with school lunches, school bus trips and homework - as always. With two kids at school I spend lots of time supporting and helping them - lots of homework in Year 3 and 6. I have also been busy removing Christmas in all rooms - I think I'm done now!! No, I just realised I still have the Christmas curtains up in the kitchen... Oops!

The other day I made some changes in the bedroom. My Valentine's Day Bedroom turned into creamy white with sparkling snowflakes on the wall...

I was thinking the other day that i would really like to be more active here - like some of my favourite bloggers, Pamela with her blog From My Front Porch To Yours and Courtney with the blog French Country Cottage. There are so many other bloggers that I truly admire too. I just need a kick in the right direction... I need to get my spark back!

Have a lovely day - today I'm at home with Jonah who has an earache. After the school drop off we went to the GP, got some drops and now we are finally at home to rest - until it's time to go back and get Little Miss Princess in 1,5 hours... No rest for the wicked!

Oh, I almost forgot... ♥ Happy International Women's Day to all of us amazing women ♥

Hello, I'm back!!

Oops, it's been a while since my last blog post. The school year has well and truly started and I've been totally absorbed in the kids' homework as well as continuing to remove Christmas. Yes, you read correctly... I'm still removing Christmas. It's been a long process this year. Slowly but surely, I'm getting my house back to normal again. - in time for Easter, maybe!!

I like keeping the red going after Christmas, especially to around Valentine's Day. Do you like my Valentine's Day bedroom? It's so nice and warm. Speaking of warm... We've had a heatwave here in South-East Queensland and it's been terrible. Too hot and too humid. This Viking does not enjoy the tropical climate we've been blessed with this week. Far out, it didn't matter if you had a shower or not. You were as sweaty after a shower - as before. Crazy!

Hope you all have a had a relaxing weekend! Thanks for stopping by ♥

Swedish Corner Down Under Christmas Home

The school holidays are well and truly on their way to the finishing line. The new school year starts on Monday the 22nd here in south-east Queensland. We've had a very relaxing Summer/Christmas holiday. I haven't been blogging much here, mainly at Swe-Aussie Xmas, my Christmas blog.

Welcome to our Swedish Corner Down Under Christmas home!

Let's start in the lounge room..

Our Yuletide Bed Room

I just adore our red and white Christmas bedroom with snowflakes, cute Christmas jumpers and cozy cushions.

God Jul

Merry Christmas in Swedish

Happy Yule

Posted this photo on my Instagram. I had just purchased a red and white curtain, and not knowing where to use it, I simply draped it over the bed for a festive yet subtle country look... ♥

As a tradition, Swedes don't remove the Christmas decorations until 20 days after Christmas, but I usually keep it up much longer as I enjoy it so immensely... ♥ I can't get enough of the red, I love the red everywhere and I love the warmth - even if it's 36°c/97°F outdoors. I love the way the Christmas decor makes me feel in the heart!

- Hope you like my home as much as I do.

Winter Bedroom 2017

We finally got some cooler nights here in south-east Queensland. I've experienced colder Winters since I moved out here. This Winter has been pretty mild. Love the warm days with lots of sunshine. I made our bedroom a bit cozier during the school holildays, with my faux fur favourites!

My cozy corner!

Lovely and sunny outside!

The blue wall is being painted (eventually),
in the same cream colour as the rest of the walls.

I purchased the faux fur cushions and matching blanket at Kmart in the beginning of Winter. I was very lucky as they disappeared extremely quickly from the shelves. The price was great, AU$ 12 each for the cushions and $25 for the blanket. Compared to other stores, that's a bargain!

The faux fur blanket is actually quite warm,
much warmer then I thought it'd be.
Snug as a bug, in a rug... Yep, that's me at night ☺

One of my favourite spots to read a book or a magazine!

The Himalayan salt lamp's glow is magical,
day and night..

Last Friday morning, I decided to go overboard with the cushions. It was so grey and rainy outside - really cozy. It was one of those days when 'more is more' lol!

Thank you for stopping by ♥
Hope you enjoyed my Winter bedroom!
What's your favourite part of it?

Have a great week ☺

Different shades of grey

Hello all, mid-Monday here in the land down-under! Hope you had a nice weekend/enjoying your weekend right now. It's been a while since I showed you any of the kids's rooms. You know how it is, not always those spaces are presentable for the world to see... ☺

Our son Jonah is growing up. He'll be 11 years old in mid-September and he's a real tween. OMG, life with him is like a roller coaster, then add an almost 8 year old little sister into the mix - Jeez, grey hairs are showing up faster than you can imagine! Love them to bits, though.

We decided to make Jonah's room a little more grown-up a while back. The kids swapped beds. Lily originally had the double bed, but wanted a single - and Jonah wanted a double bed because he loves to snuggle of of us before going to sleep. So does Lily in her single bed... slightly less space there lol

Click here to see Jonah's early boy's room. It hasn't looked like this for ages, but I had trouble finding a newer photo. The red, blue and white colour scheme is now gone and has been replaced different shades of grey and black. The white double bed was painted grey. We also wallpapered a feature wall. I really love the rustic industrial feel the brick wallpaper creates. Added some fun decor on the wall as well.

I'm so happy Jonah likes his bedroom too. It probably makes him feel a bit more grown up - and he sleeps really well in the new flannelette sheets I purchased for him for winter. Normally he'd sleep on light grey sheets, but the colour is fading to some kind of grey/beige colour, so I might buy him some charcoal coloured sheets for Summer.

What do you like most about the room?

All the best from this side of the planet... ♥
