My all time favourite Swedish artist

Carl Larsson was a Swedish painter and interior designer
(1853-1919)
My all time favourite artist and source of inspiration

An assortment of books with Carl Larsson's art

Carl Larsson painted his and his family's life in Dalarna,
a county in the middle of Sweden.

If you ever travel to Sweden,
I'd suggest a visit to Carl Larsson's home in Sundborn.
I was there once in the mid 1980's.
My dream is to return and experience the beauty as an adult.

Finally some rain!

Yesterday was the first day of rain since two months back. Today more rain came. The garden loves it. It was kind of nice too after months of pure sunshine- I just got back home when the sky opened up. Not a good day to sit outside and read a good book, but for snuggling on the couch with a hot chocolate though!

One of my many books... awesome inspiration!

Swedish Cooking

Love the yummy covers
They have a vintage feel to them ☺

Pickled herring is one of my favourite foods
Must be in my gene pool lol

I could eat salmon every day, especially the cured spiced salmon
called 'gravlax'

The salmon is cured in a mixture of salt, sugar, white pepper and dill.

Home-made meatballs are so much yummier than the ones you buy at IKEA!

My collection of Swedish and Scandinavian cookbooks.
These are all in English so hubby also can use them!
Have heaps of cookbooks in Swedish too.
Been collecting them for years.

We have plenty of Australian cookbooks as well.
At the moment, some are in the kitchen and
others are tucked away in a cupboard.

Need a BIG book shelf to display them all... ☺
Maybe one day! *dreaming*

X-mas in July

When the colder months are upon us I think more about Christmas than normal lol
Christmas is always on my mind...☺
My Christmas cookbooks are never far away!
Some are in the kitchen.
The rest is tucked away in a cupboard in the back kitchen,
so whenever I think about Christmas
I can get a fix straight away lol

I do have the Christmas Spirit 365 days a year

Feel free to visit my Christmas blog , Swe - Aussie X-mas,
for some Christmas inspiration from previous years.
It's in Swedish, but you can always enjoy the photos ☺
I've added the Google translation button at the top!

Västkusten ~West Coast...Sweden's Ocean Front

***

I was so surprised when hubby found this gorgeous book with photos from the west-coast of Sweden in one of our local second-hand shops. It was especially fun because I lived on the west-coast for six years before I emigrated to Australia. Showing you all a small selection of beautiful photos from the book.
Love the blue sky, by the way☺

***
I'm waiting for my handy hubby to build me a big bookshelf. This will happen when we enclose the carport one day. When it will happen, no one knows...☺ Meanwhile, a part of my book collection lives in our bedroom along side my interior design magazines. I love books and magazines. The collection you can see in the photos is a mixture of everything from interior design books like Rachel Ashwell's Shabby Chic books to books about natural medicine, chiropractic and how to make your own furniture.

Greetings from Australia♥... hope you all have some nice weather today. It's been raining on and off all morning. The sun is also out, so we've had some wonderful sun showers too. It's so much nicer when the sun is shining, even though it's still raining.
