Carl Larsson was a Swedish painter and interior designer
(1853-1919)
My all time favourite artist and source of inspiration
An assortment of books with Carl Larsson's art
Carl Larsson painted his and his family's life in Dalarna,
a county in the middle of Sweden.
If you ever travel to Sweden,
I'd suggest a visit to Carl Larsson's home in Sundborn.
I was there once in the mid 1980's.
My dream is to return and experience the beauty as an adult.
Carl Larsson himself
For me, this is heaven on earth.

Thanks a million to all of you hosting blog parties,
week after week! It's highly appreciated☺
I enjoyed your wonderful photos from that great artist...wish I were visiting your part of the world, it is just so so amazing...thanks for sharing...
ReplyDeleteMy husband's heritage is Swedish, so I am most interested in this post. I'll look for more of Larsson's work. Really like the self portrait.
ReplyDeleteI had a wonderful book from the library, all about the family and its life, and wonderfully illustrated. I shall have to go back and fine it again - it would be wonderful to find it in a used book store.
ReplyDeleteHe was a wonderful artist! And his home was wonderful, too. How I would love to see that in person, some day. My Swedish ancestors came from Strangnas, (not far from Stockholm), so I would love to see that town as well.
ReplyDeleteHe is also one of my favorites, I have two of the books, love all the children and the simple everyday life he portrays.
ReplyDeleteHope you get to visit soon!
ReplyDeleteWonderful to have you at Seasonal Sundays.
- The Tablescaper
That would make for a lovely trip.
ReplyDeleteHave a good Blue Monday, Pernilla.
I love that you have so many of his books...
