Storm season

It's not just sunshine here in Australia. 

Here in South - East Queensland 

we have amazing weather all year around.

Beautiful one day - perfect the next.

The sunshine, the humidity 

 - lots of pressure up in the sky

The storm season is here!

 Afternoon sky when we were at the shops...

Amazing sky

Birds trying to get away from the stormy weather.

Lots of rain, thunder and lightning above our heads.

 

After the first storm had passed the sun quickly came out again

and we saw this wonderful rainbow.

Not long after we could hear thunder again.

The rain pouring down, lightning in a distance.

The beauty of the storm season.

Finally rain!

After weeks and weeks without any rain we finally got some! 

Some really bad weather with rain, thunder & lightning 

and strong winds came in the afternoon. 

Neighbouring suburbs even got hail. We were lucky. 

No hail where we live.

After a while, 

the sun was back out again 

and everything went back to normal.

More rain and thunder awaits later on tonight.

I can hear rumbling in a distance...

Might log off and call it a night.

Autumn feel in the middle of Spring

Hello there dear blog friends and visitors,

I get so inspired when I see all these Autumn posts 

from the Northern hemisphere. 

Pumpkins, candle lights, and an endless amount of fall decor 

- so yummy!!

The period before and after Halloween 

and up until it's time to bring out the Christmas decor 

is one of my favourite time of the year, 

when it come to creating a cozy atmosphere.

Even though it's well into Spring here in Australia, 

I still decorate with lots of dark earthy colours, 

bringing pine cones in from the outdoors,

 making the house feel warm and inviting.

I'm starting to look forward to Christmas,

Lily's 4th birthday

Our princess is turning four Monday the 4th,
but we are celebrating her birthday today instead.

  

This year she wished for a Dora cake so we made one. 

Team work once again... I make the sponges and hubby decorates it.

Inside the cake there are layers of jam 

- this year we used blueberry jam - 

and Swedish vanilla custard 

and the whole thing is covered in marzipan. 

Yummy!

We stayed up very late to organise everything. 

I didn't go to bed until 1am...
