Three books about flowers and plants found in the Nordic countries.
A great find at IKEA here in Brisbane many years ago.
They were part of a display and asked if I could buy them.
$2 each - bargain!!
A mixture of Swedish vintage candle holders
Our family rooster stayed after Easter
Half the week has already passed. Time does fly!
We are already at the end of May.
The cooler winter months are almost upon us.
Officially, the first day of Winter is on Friday the 1st of June,
but some mornings I think winter has already arrived because it's been so cold.
It's not like the winters in Sweden though.
When I grew up we used to have up to -30°C/ -22°F
on a regular basis and lots of snow.
Here in sunny Queensland, Australia, we have beautiful winter's days with
15-20°C/59-68°F during the day and colder temperature at night,
sometimes as cold as 32°-39°F (0-4°C).
Can't complain though, blue skies and sunshine.
When you live in the subtropics it's:
Beautiful one day - Perfect the next!
Crispy winter months -
A great excuse to get my thick jumpers out of the closet lol

Fina bilder och du har Nordisk Flora. Jag håller på att försöka få tag på dem. Här i Skåne är det kallt och blåsigt. Mycket kallare än på många år hörda jag. Du får ha en skön helg.

Lovely to see a Scandinavian down under! My sister lives in Auckland and I was recently visiting and we found the cutest Nordic store NZ style! We're actually Finns - but you can count us in! We are now heading into summer here ... going to be a crazy hot one this year! Might have to head off to the mountains. Have a great weekend
ReplyDeleteIt was wonderful to see a post from someone not living in the United States. I love your finds especially your Ikea books...just for the record I don't have a problem with the US at all, I am from the US, but I like to see perspectives from the rest of the world :)
ReplyDeleteHi Pernilla, what a great deal on those books. I love gardening books. The beautiful covers are a s fun as the inside pages. Stay warm. I enjoyed learning a little about your Austraillan winters.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Jann
How lucky I am to have a friend in Australia! It gives me a whole new prospective and opens the world for me. And of course with your heritage, I again learn even more. I just wonder on the history of those books, who brought them and used them? humm
