Lucia 2013

On the 13th of December each year we celebrate Lucia.

If you don't know much about this tradition, click here for further information.

Yesterday we went and surprised the kids' grandfather,
who is in hospital at the moment.

- I can honestly say that we made his day.

I brought freshly baked saffron buns, which went down a treat!

When it's dark outside and the advent candles are lit in the window, I can almost imagine snow and icicles on the shed roof. Last time I had a white Christmas was in 2003 which also was the last time I went to Sweden to visit friends and family with my hubby.

Christmas Carols

It was a fantastic night at our son's school last night.

The yearly Carols' Night was once again a success!

The weather was perfect and everyone had a great time.

It's always so nice to be able to sit on the grass

listening to the students' angelic voices

Chicken kebab lunch

Chicken kebab lunch.

It's exhausting to be at the shops.

Lily loves eating kebabs with sweet chili and barbeque sauce,

I prefer sweet chili with garlic... ☺

First Sunday of Advent

The first candle is lit. Only three Sundays to go.

Christmas will be here before we know it.

We started decorating today.

The wreaths are up.

My Swedish Advent candle holder is spreading light in the window,

Had a really lovely day decorating and listening to Christmas music.
