We all had a great time at The Swedish School's Christmas Party last Saturday.

I see double...

My mum gave me these wreaths last year. Love the little pine cones and fake berries. 

The red apples have cracked glace from the heat in the shed, 

but that just make them look older and with more patina lol.

They would look perfect on some double doors, I thought, when I received them. 

A set of double doors has been a dream of mine for many years, maybe one day... ☺

Meanwhile, they are looking amazing on these doors instead.

Christmas Carols at Rochedale State School...

We had a lovely time listening to the different grades singing traditional 

Christmas Carols.

It was a beautiful night and the weather was lovely.

2nd of Advent

Today it's time to light the second candle - only two Sundays left before Christmas!

Xmas curtain preview

I love these Christmas curtains for my kitchen area. It's a café curtain set for the first window and two long curtains for the huge window with the sliding door to the backyard. The colour is just right and the embroidery is just divine, but the valance itself is too short... So frustrating. The window is too large so the valance feels stretched and doesn't give that relaxed look.

I've used them for years though, but this year I felt annoyed and took them down. We went out on a fabric hunt at the shops, cause hubby loves the curtains as well and didn't want to see them go. No matching fabrics anywhere... BUT then hubby spotted a plain, red, single curtain in a similar fabric, which will fit perfectly on both ends of the short valance and also on the bottom of the other two long curtains as well. Hurray Hurrah! Hubby saved the Christmas curtains - and it only cost us $15. Now we need to find time to add the new fabric, between Christmas Carols, School Graduation from Prep and Xmas Parties. Gee, this is a busy season.

Pre Christmas window

My white window does have a feel of scandi Christmas though, 

especially with IKEA's Christmas cookie mould decorations 

attached to my grandmother's white crochet curtains.

- I like these moulds for all year round use!

The hot weather continues... +39°C (102°F) yesterday.

The washing dried really fast lol

Today we'll have a top of +33°C (97°F)

Don't think I'll ever get used to the hot Christmas weather.

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas... ☺

1st of Advent

Today we are lighting the first candle of four... 

The Christmas countdown has begun!

Happy 1st of Advent☺

It was a rather hot day today as well. I preferred to decorate indoors with the air con going, than spending time outside. The air con was on for the most of the day. Once in a while I turned it off, but when the house heated up to +29°C (84.2°F), it was time to turn it on again!

Noticed the kids didn't want to spend too much time outdoors either. They only went out for a bit when I had to get some more Christmas stuff from my boxes outside.

Here in Australia it's custom to start decorating for Christmas on the first of December. Some even put the trees up. That's a little bit early for me. In our family we decorate it mid December. Back home, we used to decorate the Christmas tree on the night before Christmas Eve, but then on the other hand, us Swedes, we don't take the tree down until 20 days after Christmas... and the Aussies take it down just after the holiday. I prefer having the tree up for a long time and all the decor as well - I want to be able to enjoy my Christmas haven - for a long time! So we put the tree up quite early and take it down late - best of both worlds lol
