Yesterday... What a day!

Yesterday was hubby's birthday. As soon he came home from work he had to take Lily to the medical centre...

Let's start from the beginning. After our day out with friends, I made a cake for the birthday boy, let it rest in the oven with the oven door open for a while and sat down for a second or two...

Do you see where this is going?!!

The kitchen was in total darkness. Lily walked in, but decided to leave the kitchen quickly and ran into the corner of the oven door a got a cut next to her eye. Pretty freaky, if you ask me!

Our poor princess was so brave getting her cut glued together.

Now the hard part is to remind her she's not allowed to
run, jump nor cartwheel for a whole week - only walk!

We decided to go out for dinner to celebrate hubby's birthday,
a bit later in the evening than expected.
We drove to Shailer Park,
a suburb close-by and tried out a new pizzeria,

Wood fired pizza

Yum!

Yogi
- A meat lover's heaven of beef, bacon, pepperoni, ham
and our own Italian sausage on melted mozzarella

Dolce
- Combining bacon with pineapple makes this classic twist
of salty sweetness create taste buds tango

Margharita
- Melted bocconcini torn and scattered on a tomato sauce crust
topped with a healthy serving of basil

It's been years since I bought a pizza,
but I will definitely go back to Mosaic Pizza and have some more!

We didn't have time for hubby's birthday cake,
we'll save that for an other day
- a day without accidents!

A day out with friends

The kids and I had a day out with some friends from school.
We had lunch and played at IKEA

I had salmon... and the kids ate meatballs ☺

More Candy Academy activities...

Sometimes all you need is a splash of colour!

We had a great day and concluded our get-together with a play at the Plaza.

Blue n Yellow in my heart

Feeling a bit extra Swedish this time of the year,
due to all the Swedish celebrations going on.

Maybe I'm missing my old home country too, perhaps...
It's been about 15 years since I experienced a Swedish Summer.

Luckily, I have all these Swedish decorations to bring out year after year!

Midsummer Corner

I finally got around to do some Midsummer decorating.
Jeez, things don't happen fast these days.
The Swedish Midsummer weekend is well and truly over.

But,

Welcome to my Midsummer Corner!
It's normally my Autumn corner with lots of Autumn colours.
Well, the dried leaves and the pine cones are still there,
but just pushed aside a bit lol

I try to change the colour scheme to match the Swedish celebrations and events.

So,

I'm celebrating the Swedish Midsummer
in the middle of
the Australian Midwinter.

Last day of term 2

Yesterday was the last day of Term 2 in Semester 1
and time for the last parade before the school holidays.

We said Thank you and Goodbye to Mrs Francis,
our much loved deputy principal who is retiring after 25 years at our school.

Lily was awarded The Learner Profile Silver Badge. Well done, Lily!
We are proud of your efforts in Yr1.

Jonah finally got his bronze badge. We are so proud of you, Jonah. Well done!
Let's aim for The Silver Learner Profile Badge next term!

The Report cards were handed out at the end of the school day
and we couldn't be more proud. Lily is doing so well and Jonah too.
An awesome end of the term!

Now it's time for our two week Winter holiday! Yay ☺

Senior Sport's Day 2016

It was a cold and windy day, but the Senior Sport's Day still went ahead.
