Jonah is turning nine - where has the time gone?

Before I post about the weekend's Scandinavian Festival, I'm squeezing in a blog post about our son's 9th birthday... Yep, Jonah is nine today - not yet, but at 1726 this afternoon. Where has the time gone? Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday to our awesome son ♥

A busy weekend

After being at the school fete on Friday,

we continued our busy weekend with a couple of birthday parties.

First out was the birthday party at McDonald's,

Lily's friend Toby's 6th birthday.

The kids had a great time

- all dressed up as superheroes and princesses

Then later in the afternoon, 

it was time to celebrate two birthdays, 

Hayden's 6th birthday and also Jonah's 9th birthday 

- hence the 15 candles on the cake!

School Fete 2015

We stayed all night, up until the fireworks at 8.30pm.

It was a great night.

I do think I prefer to have the fete on a Saturday from 12noon to 6.30pm 

instead of an after school event. We'll see what happens next year!.

Father's Day 2015

Last Sunday we celebrated Father's Day here in Australia. Lots of other countries celebrate on the same day, but Sweden's Father's Day (Farsdag) is celebrated in November. Any excuse to celebrate again is good enough for me... ☺

9 years...

I miss my dad.

He's been gone for nine years.

Not sure if it gets any easier...

July is a terrible time of the year when I feel the loss.

I'm sad that he didn't get the chance to be a granddad.

They would have had such a wonderful time together and geez,

all the things he could have taught them - my dad could do anything,

Let's light a candle and remember our loved ones

Mt Tamborine Excursion

Last Wednesday we went to Mt Tamborine with one of our Swedish friends and her Swaustralian kids. They have an Australian dad just like my kids, Lots of Swenglish going on... So much fun when you find friends you can do fun things with.
