Easter chickens

Vintage Easter paper chickens in a row.
I used to have these ones in my room when I was little.
So bright and beautiful.
They bring so many fine memories from my childhood.

A few Easter eggs hanging in the window

My paternal grandfather's paper chickens.
Not sure how old they are.
He died in 1980 at the age of 90...
so I assume they are antique ☺

The Autumn sun is shining through the window.
Beautiful sun during the day,
but now the rain is pouring down again.

Hope you all have a great Easter!

An addition to my Easter corner

Decided to add a silky oak mirror with lots and lots of patina
to my Easter corner. An appropriate addition was some rosary beads.

My dad bought me those rosary beads at a flea market many years ago,
probably when I was moving out of home, with the words:
- You might need them one day... ☺
In a way he was right, they complement my mirror brilliantly.

Good Friday

Good Friday is almost at its end. Only dinner and tucking in the kids to bed left.
I'm totally exhausted after the first day of the Easter holidays.
Hubby spent the whole day at work.

I have been 'entertaining' the kids and trying to keep them from fighting too much...
Not sure if I was successful lol
The whole day has been a roller coaster ride.

Good Fridays were different when I grew up.
It was the year's longest day - in Sweden, Good Friday is called 'Long Friday'.
No shops were open and TV only showed religious movies.
A least that's how it felt...☺

Easter corner

I finally got started... ☺
Easter is almost upon us and there are Easter decor here and there around the house.

Yellow candles are a must during Easter
- and of course a bunch of Swedish Easter magazines with yummy recipes!

Hope you all have a wonderful week leading up to the Easter weekend!

Thank you all for your lovely comments and
a big welcome to my new followers ♥

Swedish Waffle Day

Today I'm making waffles for the kids
as it is a Swedish tradition to eat waffles on the 25th of March each year.

I've got my waffle iron out and I have my cookbook infront of me.
Time to cook ☺ Yum yum...

Yesterday...

we celebrated my cousin's 40th birthday... and today it's 8 months until my big day.

When we drove home from Brisbane it stared to rain slightly and the sky was dark.
We could see lightning in a distance.

A few minutes after we got home the sky opened up and the rain poured down
- bucket loads...
and we saw the most spectacular lightning show imaginable.
Mother Nature is amazing!

Autumn Beauty

After all the rain we've had lately,
it's so nice to see the sun, the blue sky and all the beauty around us.

Autumn beauty - just around the corner.
