A Princess' room

Pink, pink... and a little more pink!
Slowly we are getting closer to finishing Lily's room... it is definitely a room in progress.
One step forward and about two...
- or five backwards, cause we keep using it as a storage room as well... ☺

Yummy snacks for the kids to make...

This is such a yummy treat, something I made as a child in Sweden
and now I make it with my own 'swaustralian' kiddies.

To make approx 30 chocolate balls you need:
100 g of softened butter (7 tablespoons)
100 ml of sugar (½cup)
1 tablespoon of vanilla sugar or 1½ tablespoon of vanilla extract
2-3 tablespoons of sifted cocoa
300 ml of rolled oats (1,25 cups)
2-3 tablespoons of cold strong coffee
Garnish: Pearl sugar or shredded coconut

Beat the butter, sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy.
Stir in the rest of the ingredients.
Form into small round balls.
Garnish with pearl sugar or shredded coconut.
Refrigerate until it's time to eat.

It's a real treat at a kids party,
or in front of TV when the kids are asleep lol.

Sorry for being slightly invisible...

Some of you might have noticed that my blog posts haven't been too frequent lately. Sometimes old photos have even reappeared in new blog posts. I was lucky to have lots of photos to use while waiting... ☺

I finally have my own computer up and running again. I missed my old friend... For a couple of months, I was fortunate to borrow my in-laws laptop, to get by. Funny how dependent you get and how used you get to always be able to surf, skype or blog. For me, living away from my home country, away from relatives and dear friends, the computer has a different meaning as well. It is a lifeline.

So happy to have my computer back after the big disaster. Photos, home moves plus important documents were recovered, after the other hard drive suffered a mechanical fault in late August. All the data have now been transferred into three different hard drives, one internal and two external. Don't ever want to experience what I went though with anxiety and panic attacks at night with the thought of loosing our home movies of the kids.

So, now my friends from near and far... I'm back ready to continue my blogging adventure!

Happy Blue Monday

Do stop by Smiling Sally and her Blue Monday blog party
to experience the wonderful world of BLUE!

Happy Blue Monday everyone!

Ps. We were so lucky yesterday afternoon, when the big storm was going to hit our area, it changed its course and Queensland's capital Brisbane was hit by storms for a second time in two days.

Brisbane Thunderstorm

Yesterday we had a couple of big storms. Lots of thunder and lightning.
The rain was pouring down. It was magical.

We are lucky where we live.
No damage.

Today I woke up and it was grey and rainy,
- very calming.

More storms await as we are in the beginning of our storm season,
maybe today even...

Pix from Brisbane, check out Courier Mail!

Have a beautiful Sunday, wherever you are!
Stay safe!

Update Sunday arvo:

RADAR UPDATE
Basically anywhere in the yellow circle is at risk of this cell which is tracking in a North to North Easterly direction. Heavy rainfall, damaging winds and large hailstones likely.

I'm not looking forward to golf ball sized hailstones... or even bigger!!

OMG!
Close to severe thunderstorm close to where we live...

Happy Swedish Father's Day

After a day of rain we are once again blessed with sunshine. The sky is blue and it's
pretty windy. We do need more rain, but have to be grateful of what we received.

Today we celebrate the Swedish Father's Day.
So cool that we can celebrate things twice!!

Have a lovely Sunday everyone!
